R. Hunter Bond, O.D.
Richard Hunter Bond, O.D. is a graduate of Denham Springs High School in Denham Springs, LA. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA, in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.
In 1990 he trained at the Medical Center of Baton Rouge for Certification for heart function electrocardiogram.
He graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA,
in 1996 for Doctor of Optometry, with a GPA of 3.55. Dr. Bond attended clinical training in 1994 and 1995 at The Eye Institute,
Pennsylvania College of Optometry for experience in primary and emergency care using DPA’s and TPA’s. He is proficient in the
management and co-management of ocular disease with specialty services in Glaucoma, Retina, Neurology, Lasers and Contact Lenses.

Sarah Wroten, O.D.
Sarah Futch Wroten, O.D., grew up in south Baton Rouge and is a
graduate of Baton Rouge High School. After attending L.S.U. as a University
Honors Scholar and majoring in Microbiology, Dr. Wroten graduated Magna
Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
She completed internships in Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, Low Vision
Rehabilitation, Contact Lens, Advanced Care Ocular Disease, and Primary
Care, at The Eye Institute at Southern College of Optometry. Externship
training was performed at The Eye Clinic of the Memphis Veterans Affairs
Medical Center Hospital and at West Tennessee Eye. After graduating
with honors, Dr. Wroten received advanced training by completing a
residency in Hospital-Based Primary Eyecare at the Memphis Veterans Affairs
Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Wroten has participated in clinical
research and presented educational posters at national optometric
conferences. She provided primary eyecare as an independant optometric
physician in private practice in the greater Memphis area and as a volunteer
at the Memphis Church Health Center, prior to joining The Bond Eye
Clinic. While proficient in ocular disease and primary eyecare, additional
areas of interest include low vision rehabilitation and fitting of
rigid gas permeable contact lenses. Dr. Wroten is the proud wife of her
husband, Dr. Chris Wroten, also on staff at The Bond Eye Clinic, and is a
proud mother of their young daughter, Emily.

Chris Wroten, O.D.
Chris Wroten, O.D., grew up in the north Baton Rouge community of
Central before attending LSU on a University Honors Scholarship. Upon
graduating with a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering, Dr. Wroten
worked for several years at Exxon Chemical prior to attending Southern
College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed internships in
Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Primary Care,
Contact Lens, and Advanced Care Ocular Disease at The Eye Institute of
Southern College of Optometry. Externship training was also completed at
West Tennessee Eye and at The Eye Clinic of the Memphis Veterans
Affairs Medical Center. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Wroten received
advanced training by completing a residency in Hospital-Based Primary
Eyecare at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Prior to
joining The Bond Eye Clinic & Surgery Center as a partner, he provided
primary eyecare as an independant optometric physician in the greater Memphis
area, volunteered at the Memphis Church Health Center, and worked for
several years in private practice at West Tennessee Eye. He has also
participated in clinical research, authored clinical case reports, and
presented educational posters and workshops at national optometric
conferences. In addition to primary eyecare, Dr. Wroten's special areas of
interest lie in treatment and management of ocular disease. He is a
devoted husband to his wife, Dr. Sarah Wroten, also on staff at The Bond
Eye Clinic, and is a loving father to his daughter, Emily.

Daphne Richardson, O.D.
Daphne Richardson, O.D., is a native of Amite, Louisiana, and a graduate of Xavier
University in New Orleans. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of
Houston COllege of Optometry. She has served as a research investigator for the LSU
Department of Psychiatry, and is affiliated with the American Optometric Association
and the Optometry Association of Louisiana. Dr. Griggs also maintains a private practice
in New Orleans and is active in community service projects. Her focus is on comprehensive
eye care including pediatrics, contact lenses, glaucoma, and other eye diseases.
Richard Bessent, M.D.
Richard Bessent, M.D., has been servicing St. Tammany and Washington Parishes, and now Tangipahoa
Parish, for over 20 years. He is devoted to the highest quality medical care, with unsurpassed
surgical results for his patients. Dr. Bessent received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University
in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed an internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Bessent then completed his residency in Opthalmology at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, where
he served as Chief Resident. He participates in a monthly roundtable teleconference with other
opthalmologists from across the United States, which is sponsored by VISX, the manufacturer of our
LASIK laser. This conference allows surgeons to discuss various aspects of LASIK procedures with their peers.
Dr. Bessent is board certified in Opthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Opthalmology,
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Southern Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical
Society, and St. Tammany Medical Society. He is on staff at Lakeview Regional Hospital, St. Tammany Medical
Center, Riverside Medical Center, Tulane Medical Center, Fairway Medical Center, and Washington-St. Tammany
Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bessent has also completed credentialing in the VISX Excimer Laser system course,
as well as a fellowship program in LASIK. He has attended a fellowship program in the Moria Microkeratome System,
and continues to attend courses in advanced LASIK procedure.
